A one-of-a-kind survivor in excellent original paint with even, light gunning wear. Original bill was snapped cleanly at its base and reattached.

Exhibits Holmes' characteristic black painted primaries.

This is the first Holmes dowitcher shorebird seen until now. It is a rigmate of the Holmes golden plover sold in the Feb. ’18 Copley sale (lot #16).

A Holmes merganser holds the record for the most expensive decoy ever sold at auction ($856K).
