Pine in untouched, dry original conditon. Six fireboards by the same hand are known: three from the Babcock Collection, used on a Long Island estate called Hark Away. Another by this hand was published in "Architectural Digest," Dec. 1991, page 145.

Nearly identical fireboards are ex. David Schorsch and Courcier-Wilkins. Another board by the same hand is ex. Steve Miller; this is the one illustrated in the referenced "Architectural Digest".
