Well-matched Gavitt style pair in strong original paint. Hen is untouched with bold feather sponging and no cracks. Drake's neck filler is replaced and there is a short shrinkage crack in its base.

Similar to the pair shown on page 47 of our "Mason Decoys" book.

Gavitt was an Upstate New York hunter who bought his Mason decoys when the company was producing its best work. The bodies are relatively small and the paint patterns are refined. Later production provided larger decoys with bolder paint feathering.

15 1/2" long.
