A fine ecxample of the Harry V. Shourds school of hollow decoy carving. Paint condition is untouched and bone dry. Seams are tight, showing flaking around the white lead filler. Strucurally excellent with a thin chip on the base of the bill. This example sold at the July '12 Copley sale for $10,350.

Only a few examples are known in original paint. See Fleckenstein's "New Jersey Decoys," page 130, and Doherty's "Coastal New ersey Decoys," page 158.
