Untouched, bold, nearly mint original paint. Even its iron bill has no rust and its original paint.

Ex. John Delph, McCleery, Haid and Bennett collections. This exact decoy is pictured in our "Mason Decoys" reference book, page 119.

While similar to Mason doves, note the coral breast color, fatter breast shape, and less exaggerated tapered tail.

We have only handled 3 and seen about 6 examples of this Mason species and plumage. These decoys are early. They were gunned heavily in the 19th Century. The last passenger pigeon died at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914.

10 1/2" long.
