About Shorebird Decoys Shorebird hunting for food was common in the 19th century from New England through North Carolina. Hunting of most shorebird species was banned by the Federal Migratory Waterfowl Act in 1918, so surviving examples are rare.

	Golden Plover in Fall Plumage Shorebird Decoy Pair Attr. Eugene Cuffee, Long Island, Ca. 1915 Superb original condition, including paint and bill (a bill chip on one has been restored). Classic Cuffee carved dropped wings. Bold paint patterns with a nice mellow surface. Cuffee's dates are 1866-1941.
