Maine, Ca. 1830

Grain painted and decorated basswood with classic "State of Maine" decoration. Completely original paint, lock, wire hinges, etc. Bold lively red graining on black with yellow striping and green banding. Further embellished with bronze powder stencilling.

Thumback, arrowback Windsors with shaped seat and bamboo turned legs. Black and red graining with green and yellow trim combined with hand-painted floral and leaf decoration on the top rail. Full height and excellent original condition.

Seat height 17 3/4"; seat width 15 1/2"; overall 34 1/2".
